Membership FAQs

1.  Who can be a member of AGMA?
Membership is open to companies with a manufacturing interest in the gear and mechanical power transmission industry.  Membership is not restricted by geography; AGMA has members worldwide.  Learn more about the types of companies that are members in AGMA.

2.  Does AGMA have individual or student memberships?
AGMA's primary membership is for companies/corporations that manufacture gears, gearboxes, flexible couplings, or mechanical power transmission equipment or components. We also have members that supply machine tools, cutting tools, and other capital equipment to the gear manufacturing industry; offers supplies or services such as gear blanks, lubricants, heat-treating, grinding, etc. Users of gears and gearing equipment may also join. We do have a few independent consultants and professors of mechanical engineering as individual technical members. However, AGMA does not have student memberships or memberships for individual engineers who are employed at companies that manufacture or use gears.

3.  How much does it cost?
AGMA members who manufacture gears pay annual dues based on sales of gears and related products or of sales to the gear industry. Click here for more information.
