Featuring:
“The Gear Market Report”
by Dr. Mike Bradley, AGMA Economic Consultant

The economic atmosphere is still gloomy, but a few positive indicators show that there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Positive Indicators:

  • Wholesale Trade–Sales increased in February for the first time in 7 months.
  • Inventory-sales Ratio– Fell for the first time in 8 months
  • International Trade– The U.S. Trade Deficit narrowed from $36.2 billion in January to $25.9 billion in February, the smallest monthly trade deficit since 1999.

Negative Indicators:

  • Manufacturing Activity–The Fed’s Beige Book shows that Manufacturing Activity is still very weak, though it is beginning to show signs of stablizing
  • Manufacturing Technology Consumption– AMT reports that manufacturing technology consumption is down 66.2% so far this year
  • Unemployment– Monthly unemployment numbers are now 8.5%

But how do these indicators effect the gear industry, and more importantly, your business? Has the gear industry already seen the worst of the recession, or are there more bad days to come?

During this special Webcast presentation of the Spring Marketing & Forecasting Conference you will get an expert view of the economy and the gear industry from the always popular Dr. Mike Bradley.

The presentation will begin with a quick review of where we are and how the stimulus is effecting the economy at large.  The webcast will also include a discussion of the implications of the current conditions for manufacturing and the gear market.  Plus, the most important part – a forecast for where the gear industry is headed for the next few months, and when we may be able to see an end to the current recession.

Invite your entire sales and management teams to take part in this special webcast!
