AGMA SRN on Capitol Hill 2011

October 3-5, 2011

AGMA Headquarter Offices, Alexandria, VA

If your company is interested in doing business for the US government (directly or indirectly through a prime contractor) you should attend this meeting. The AGMA Strategic Resources Network (SRN) invites you to join them October 4 -5 as they learn how your Congressman can help your company. Learn how lobbyists work and hear directly from the Department of Transportation on plans to modernize the nation’s rail system as well as how emission standards will affect autos and trucks.

A strong agenda has been established for this event.

  • A briefing by Congressman Don Manzullo, US Representative, Illinois on his work with the Manufacturing Caucus
A meeting with staffers of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, New York to discuss a recent bill “Made in America Block Grant Program Act of 201”
Targeted presentation by the Department of Transportation with specific information on fuel economy standards for cars and commercial trucks
An overview on how Congress works and how you can influence legislation
A presentation on the ins and outs of lobbying Congress
An information session on the government’s plans to modernize the nation’s rail system.

Manzullo

Participants are invited to a networking reception and will have dinner on Capitol Hill.

The attendees will also serve as a focus group for ideas, suggestions, and successes relating to the Workforce Development and Employment concerns. In collaboration with the AGMA staff, the group plans on creating a list of government sponsored websites that could help in the process of securing, finding and winning government contracts.
