The Strategic Resources Network is planning a full two days for the 2011 event. (See full agenda below) Join in for education, tours, and even a round of golf. Take advantage of the educational offerings at the Ajax Rolled Ring and Machine facility in York, SC and tour the factory. Participants will also receive a guided tour of the BMW Plant in Greer, SC and stop by the BMW Museum.

This discussion will focus on the current state of the steel industry in North America post-recession including the economic outlook for major markets, supply and demand, lead-times; and other factors which impact steel producers, including commentary on the future impact of China’s steel industry.

Ajax Rolled Ring & Machine is a custom manufacturer of seamless rolled rings that are used in a variety of industrial components including bearing races, gears, flanges, and valve seat rings. End-use markets include the bearing industry; power-generation steam and gas-turbine; wind energy; mining and construction equipment; oil and gas; petrochemical, defense; rail transportation; and more.

Ajax was established in 1980 and employs 100 dedicated individuals who operate two Wagner rolling mills within a 140,000 square foot facility.

GOLF

There will be an optional golf tournament at Verdae Greens Golf Club on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Tee times have been reserved, beginning at 8:00 am. The Verdae Greens Golf Club, part of the Embassy Suites complex, has a full service practice area, pro shop, and five sets of tees to accommodate players of all levels. The tournament will be a scramble format and open to players of all levels.

The fee for the golf tournament is $60, which includes the round, use of the golf cart, and a box lunch at the conclusion of the round, prior to boarding the bus for the trip to BMW. Club rental will be available for $30.
