What is AGMA?
Established in 1916, AGMA is a voluntary association of companies, consultants, and academicians with a direct interest in the design, manufacture, and application of gears, couplings, and related power transmission components and equipment. It offers technical standards, education, and business information for manufacturers, suppliers, and users of gears and mechanical power transmission components.
Emerging Technology
AGMA has four Emerging Technology focus areas:
- 3D Printing
- Electric Drive Technology
- Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
- Robotics and Automation
These areas of focus have been determined by the AGMA Emerging Technologies Committee (ETC).
Standards
Access up-to-date AGMA standards and publications applicable to gear manufacturing. AGMA Members get a discount on all AGMA standards, documents, and other products.
AGMA has set national gearing standards since 1916. The association also serves as the focal point within the United States for the development of ISO gearing standards, as the Secretariat of ISO TC 60 โ Gears. AGMA standards address critical gearing topics, from design and analysis; manufacturing and quality; materials, metallurgy, and heat treatment; operation, maintenance, lubrication, and efficiency; and gear failure.
