Education/Work Experience: Minimum five years’ experience in designing work holding tooling.
Knowledge of machining operations.
Proficiency with a computerized drafting program.
Strong organizational skills

Familiarity with gear machining operations.
Familiarity with lean processes.
Job Summary: The tooling/application engineer (engineer) improves the productivity of the organization by reducing machine time. The engineer is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of available work holding fixtures and cutting tools. The engineer will optimize those tools to minimize installation and machining time. The engineer is responsible for minimizing the number of fixtures necessary by modifying them to be as universal as possible. The position will help operations to rearrange shop equipment to minimize queue times of product in our shop
Principal Area of Responsibility:
-Maintain an accurate catalog of tooling.
- Create new tooling drawings and add them to the catalog.
- Oversee and track new tooling during manufacturing.
-Identify and implement cost effective ways to reduce manufacturing lead times by reducing machine and or queue times.
-Track and report cost savings.
