LEAN-Sigma Coordinator

Title: OCG – LEAN-Sigma Coordinator - Addison

 

Job Status: Non-Exempt/Regular/Full-Time

 

Reports Relationship: Reporting to Vice President of Operational Excellence

Education: Bachelor’s degree on a combination of lower degree with extensive hands-on experience. Additionally, 6-Sigma Green Belt, LEAN-Sigma position and Quality systems auditor is preferred.

Work Experience: Must have 10+ years LEAN-Sigma project experience in a manufacturing environment. Emphasis includes hands-on improvement project development benefits to the company.

Job Summary: Participates in all aspects of the organization’s business improvement efforts, such as, training and coaching employees, and leading improvements projects throughout the organization. Responsible for various fata collection, analysis and communications to develop project ideas and priorities. Develops work instructions and forms in support of continuous improvement efforts that will assure ongoing sustainment. Will work with VP OP X, senior leadership and others to plan and execute improvement projects to drive towards an “Operational Excellence” environment and business culture including; Visual Management, VSM, SMED, SS, TPM, DMAIC, Auditing, etc.  

Personal Characteristics: Requires superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of urgency, with the ability to handle confidential information. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities. Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations. Must have a high energy level and the ability to gather and disseminate accurate information and produce a quality work product. Requires the ability to make sound decisions and speak with confidence. Person must have very strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) with the ability to follow-up.

We are looking for someone assertive, passionate and diplomatic with the ability to achieve high quality results in an efficient and effective manner.  The successful candidate needs to be a pro-active self-started that can work independently.

Principal Area of Responsibility: As LEAN-Signa Coordinator, this position is to:

                                           -Quality system tools

                                           -LEAN waste reductions

                                           -6-Sigma variation reductions

Specific Duties:               

Position must possess the following skills, qualifications and capabilities:

 

  • Strong drive for improvement, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Training and presentation skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office products, Mini-Tab and others as needed

 

Physical and Mental Demands:             

  • Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed above.
  • Mentor to staff, passing on knowledge and best practices.
  • The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines.
  • Handle multiple projects (multi-task) in a fast-paced organization with shifting priorities.
  • Resourceful, “hand-on”, “roll-up sleeves” approach to work while maintaining professionalism, positive demeanor and quality-focused manner.
  • Excellent time management skills.  Readily accessible, punctual and resourceful with the ability to work beyond the normal business hours, including weekends.
  • Seeks ways to develop self to increase knowledge base.
