Manufacturing Supervisor for our Specialized Gear Services

We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor for our Specialized Gear Services Department.  Ideally, we are looking for a strong supervisor who can also work with customers and help with the quoting process- most of all, someone with a desire to be part of a winning team. This individual will be a problem solver and outside the box thinker – willing to challenge norms and break through paradigms to maximize customer value. In this role, you will be responsible for all Operational activities in Specialized Gear Services (SGS). You will create and execute Production plans by day, week, month and quarter.  You will help coordinate resources and schedules related to customer development programs, cutting/grinding trials, training, and machine runoff/program support.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead an organizational culture committed to Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement through development and use of Strategy Deployment (SD) Initiatives and Gleason Business Principals.
  • Set and Attain Quality, Cost and Delivery performance goals
  • Report, Monitor and implement required Corrective Actions for performance goals.
  • Manage Equipment and Personnel resources to support Gleason Machine, R&D and SGS business objectives.
  • Plan and Manage cost center spending, inventory management, and cycle count reporting
  • Drive Continuous Improvement activities and culture throughout entire SGS Value Stream.
  • Selection, Purchasing, Performance, and Optimization of Tooling & Capital Equipment in SGS
  • Responsible for Staffing including hiring, Development/Coaching and Performance of Personnel
  • Work with Project Coordinator on new inquiries for quote
  • Work with Quality and Project Coordinator to ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood and supports the execution of First Article Inspections and PPAP’s.

 

 

Qualifications                                   

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school in Engineering or Business Management and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must demonstrate and model effective listening, written and verbal skills, sound logical judgment and organizational skills, while at the same time creating in others both a sense of urgency and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Leadership or previous Supervisory experience preferred
  • Some domestic travel is required in support of customers and business growth
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of SAP business system
