Product Manager Motors  

Position:         Product Manager Motors       

Location:        Waunakee, WI       

Hours:             1st shift      

Summary:  Responsible to guide NORD in growth of sales, manage product portfolio and an understanding of concepts and regulations in the motor industry. Plan and implement the needed elements together with our company management including sales, marketing, support, service, facilities, infrastructure and partners.  .  Communicate with all areas of the company, including German Headquarters. Work with engineering counterparts to define product release requirements. Communicate with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them to understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. Serve as the internal and external specialist for the motor product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers


  • Grow NORD sales within the motor product family
  • Develop and implement plans and contribute to improving our work processes
  • Represent NORD’s interest in industry associations like NEMA
  • Follow and try to influence US laws and regulations related to motors
  • Train the organization on motors and motor concepts
  • Support  sales organization within customer visits
  • Definition of the product strategy for the US market in coordination with the US sales and product management at the Global Headquarters
  • Identify market trends and analyze competitors (portfolio, strength and weaknesses)
  • Identify markets and applications with growth potential
  • Support the NORD global strategy team to develop product concepts with strong value propositions with clear link to company and product strategy
  • Responsible for all market launches (planning phase until market introduction (according to Quality Gate process)
  • Support sales and business development to enable significant sales growth
  • Support the marketing department (e.g. exhibitions, web)
  • Aid all NORD employees in selecting and applying motors


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years with motors, motor applications, industry standards, performance, electrical design and mechanical design. Supervisory experience as Application Engineering Manager or Supervisor preferred. Knowledge of motors and motor applications, motor competitors and in the field of marketing           
  • Flexible to changing requirements, Able to multi-task, Good communicator, Professional and positive, Team player, Abel to work on own initiative, Technically adapt, Good problem solving skills, Self-motivated, Creative, Adaptable and Assertive, Goal-oriented working method taking into account of all problems and wishes (sales, technical production and customer wishes often conflict)
  • Able to work at a desk for 8+ hours, Able to lift up to 40 pounds, Able to move around the building including the factory,
  • Able to travel at will.
