FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandria, VA- Preston Reine, Manager of Motors and Motor Driven Equipment at IHS Markit Manufacturing Technology, will be presenting “The Importance of Electric Drives to the Gear Industry” at the 2017 Fall Marketing &Forecasting Conference October 4-5, in Rosemont, IL. Reine is a group manager whose expertise is focused on motor-driven systems such as pump, fan and compressor applications. Through advanced research methodologies and business development, Reine will provide insight into marketing intelligence with electric drives and how it may affect the gear industry.
With drive suppliers currently facing some barriers, the presentation will focus on opportunities and potential disruptions to gear manufacturers. Reine will give special attention to the steps that gear manufacturers can take to succeed in the face of the added challenge of electrification. Additionally, Reine will address the current state of the drives market in terms of revenue and unit shipment performance.
The Fall Marketing & Forecasting Conference attracts CEOs, Vice Presidents, sales executives and marketing experts from all types of member companies. Each year, attendees come to focus on the in-depth and comprehensive “Gear Market Report” that provides information on the U.S. economic conditions, industry conditions for gears, gear market bookings and gear market shipments. Having Reine as a speaker will enhance the conference to go beyond the numbers and talk about the economic outlook on a global span as it relates to the state of manufacturing.
“We are really excited to have Preston speak this year as we have not had anyone present on something that is considered a competing technology to this group before,” explains Jill Johnson, AGMA Director of Membership. “It is an opportunity for attendees to receive the comprehensive data from the Gear Market Report that AGMA provides, but also to hear from Preston whom will provide a deeper understanding of the crucial trends occurring to give members and non-members a look at the end-equipment markets.”
AGMA strives to provide insight to new and emerging technologies as part of the overall Strategic Plan. Having a presentation about electric drives will add a new dimension to the conference where AGMA combines the strong market report with innovation and challenge.
In addition to Reine’s presentation, Tom Runiewicz, Senior Principal Economist from IHS Economics, will present the Gear Market Report and the data involved.
