AGMA Announces Jay Rogers as a Keynote Speaker for Gear Expo 2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandria, VA – John “Jay” Rogers, CEO and Co-Founder of Local Motors is one of the three keynote speakers who will be presenting at Gear Expo 2017, THE Drive Technology Show, in Columbus, Ohio, October 24-26. Rogers is the CEO and Co-Founder of Local Motors, a technology company that uses a co-creating community to design, develop and build Olli, the world’s first self-driving cognitive vehicle.
Local Motors is redefining the development of connected hardware by pairing micro-manufacturing with the open-source technology community. They are the first company to utilize Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), debuting the world’s first 3D-printed car, the Strati, in September of 2014. This type of innovation works well with Gear Expo’s drive technology focus and AGMA’s strategy of bringing emerging technology to the gear industry.
For more than two decades, power transmission professionals—including CEOs, owners, presidents, engineers, project managers, consultants and other executives have come to Gear Expo to learn the latest industry information and see firsthand technology, products, and services that help them expand and streamline their business.
“Having Rogers as a keynote speaker will resonate with our core attendees and exhibitors,” explains Jenny Blackford, AGMA Vice President of Marketing. “I am interested to hear what he thinks about the future of the car manufacturing industry and I know many others will be too. Local motors will also be bringing one of their cars to Gear Expo so that attendees can see the technology in person and ask questions of Local Motors personnel,” adds Blackford. “ For anyone in the gear industry, this is a can’t miss opportunity.”
Gear Expo attendees represent a variety of industries including industrial applications and automotive. They come from around the United States, international manufacturing hubs, and emerging markets to conduct profitable business transactions and learn about the innovations that make their operations more streamlined. Rogers will be able to appeal to many of the attendees on different levels.
“I’m excited to be speaking at Gear Expo, where I’ll be sharing my experiences with taking risks in this ever-evolving industry, as well as my collaboration with small-volume manufacturing and car-loving communities,” said Rogers.
Rogers will be speaking on Thursday, October 26, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.
