Distance Education does not seem so distant with the new education portal for online courses.
Alexandria, Va - AGMA has implemented Elevate, a new online Learning Management System (LMS) through CommPartners. The system enhances course offerings by providing an online platform that allows interaction beyond the scheduled class dates. The new platform was chosen by AGMA to provide a cleaner and more user-friendly experience for the global community. The goal was for students attending an AGMA online course to receive the same experience as they would in a face-to-face course.
“Elevate provides a platform where AGMA can launch multiple learning experiences to students on a global scale,” said Casandra Blassingame, the Director of Education for AGMA. “Really, our goal was to create a learning community that connects students to each other and shortens the distance between us all.”
The new system stores all of the AGMA course information available and students will have access to documents and resources once they have signed up for a class. Industry professionals will be able to sign up for face-to-face courses, take online video/webinars courses, view webinars—past and present—and take Workforce Education courses that are offered as self-study. Students will be able to have discussions and direct communication with each other and instructors just as they would during an in-person class. Having a place for students of all different skill levels and backgrounds to participate during classes was important for AGMA’s Education Department.
“Distance education has come a long way and AGMA recognizes that providing students with an easy, seamless learning experience is going to ensure people are getting connected to all resources available,” added Blassingame. “Our new system has the latest tools in distance learning and our students will be able to access their materials and ask questions when they need to; we are bringing the classroom right to them.”
The new LMS can still be accessed through learning.agma.org and members and non-members can also see this link through “My AGMA Classroom” on www.agma.org. Please contact email@example.com with any questions.
