AGMA Technical Division is proud to announce the publication of the much anticipated new revision of the widely popular ANSI/AGMA 1010 “Appearance of Gear Teeth - Terminology of Wear and Failure”.
The new standard, ANSI/AGMA 1010-F14, was developed within the AGMA Nomenclature Committee by merging ANSI/AGMA 1010-E95 and AGMA 912-A04, Mechanisms of Gear Tooth Failures.
The new combined standard expands the nomenclature for general modes of gear tooth wear and failure. It classifies, identifies, and describes the most common types of failure and provides information that will, in many cases, enable the user to identify failure modes and evaluate the degree or change from original condition. It also includes new failure modes and additional color photos and extended descriptions of failure mode morphology and mechanism, and methods to reduce the risk of a particular failure mode.
The new standard replaces both ANSI/AGMA 1010-E95 and AGMA 912-A04.
