July 2, 2018, Alexandria, VA- The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) will travel to China October 19-31 for a high-level trade mission. The AGMA China Trade Mission is expected to bring up to 25 leaders to the region for company tours, business meetings and cultural exchanges. This is the second time AGMA has conducted a trade mission in China, the last time was in 2004. This year’s mission will include tours and meetings in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuxi, and Nanjing.
“AGMA has a long-standing tradition of conducting trade missions around the world, always focused on emerging regions where the are opportunities to sell gears into or develop supplier relationships that can add value to participating companies,” notes Matthew E. Croson, President of AGMA. “AGMA Trade Missions are a critical part of the current strategic plan, as we all operate in a global business dynamic that is both challenging and fluid. The Board chose China because it felt it was time to see how much progress China has made as it relates to gear manufacturing.”
AGMA’s Trade Mission will run from October 19-October 31, and include the following elements:
Ningbo Xiasha Gears
Nio – Electric Vehicle
Great Wall visit
“Each meeting will include an overview of the company, a dialogue on business conditions, and a tour of the facility where possible,” adds Croson. “These meetings are important opportunities to really get a sense of the size and scope often market and give members a look into how Chinese suppliers are operating in today’s business environment.”
