Charlie Fischer, VP AGMA Technical Division, Retires

AGMA celebrates the retirement of Charlie Fischer after a distinguished career in the gear industry.

Charlie followed in his father’s steps spending time at Philadelphia Gear in his early career.

Following college, Charlie spent five years at the York Division of Borg Warner Corporation before heading back to Philly Gear for another 19 years.

In 1994 he joined AGMA’s Technical Division. Charlie was promoted to Vice President of the Technical Division in 2007.

Charlie has used the past seven years to cement AGMA’s technical activities as one of the core benefits of AGMA membership.  Moreover, his peers in the international committee on gearing, ISO’s TC 60 have elected him, repeatedly, to be the chairman – the Secretariat in the language of ISO – of the international group responsible for developing and maintaining the set of ISO standards for our industry.

“Charlie has traveled countless miles and weekends, frequently with the leading experts inthe industry, to do the work so important to international commerce.” - Joe Franklin, AGMA President

Always the professional, Charlie has built leadership in his department so it will be in good hands following his retirement.  Amir Aboutaleb and Justin Sikorski are experienced mechanical engineers.  Amir will succeed Charlie later this spring.
