Alexandria, VA—October 17, 2017— The 2017 Gear Expo, THE Drive Technology, show will open with the largest audience since 2001. AGMA announces that 2,500 have pre-registered for Gear Expo—an eight percent increase from 2015’s event. Gear Expo, The Drive Technology Show, will be held October 24-26, 2017 at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, OH.
“AGMA is pleased that so many buyers are pre-registered and coming to Columbus for three days of connecting with innovative suppliers, attending technical education and networking with peers,” said Matthew E. Croson, President of AGMA. “The event’s primary hotels have been sold out for weeks, and attendance at our co-located events and networking events are well above 2015 numbers.”
Gear Expo features 294 exhibiting companies over 59,400 net square feet. The number of exhibiting companies has grown 10% from 2015, including companies that will be part of the first-ever Emerging Technology Pavilion. The event is co-located with Heat Treat which features 189 exhibiting companies over 34,000 net square feet.
“We are really excited about how Gear Expo 2017 has shaped up,” said Jenny Blackford, Vice President of Marketing for AGMA. “With the support of the Show Committee and Board of Directors, AGMA focused time and attention on growing our attendee audience by highlighting the innovations that our industry is developing.”
Additive manufacturing, augmented reality and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) are primary drivers of innovation within the power transmission space, and this year’s exhibitors are showcasing some of their solutions within this area, on the show floor and within the Emerging Technology Pavilion. The show also features keynotes from Local Motors, VUZIX and the Department of Energy, with CEOs and market leaders that will be discussing their approach to these disruptive technologies.
The event is also global, with 13% of registered attendees coming from outside of the United States. Gear Expo will feature attendees from 23 countries.
“We are pleased that so many industry professionals have chosen Gear Expo to be the place where they travel to find innovations and technical experts to solve the challenges they face,” added Blackford. “AGMA’s focus will always be to deliver an industry event that resonates and responds to the industry’s needs, challenges and opportunities.”
