The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating various types of manual gear cutting and machining equipment to produce precision gears. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Manual Gear Cutter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all components meet strict quality standards and specifications.
Job Title: Journeyman Manual Gear Cutter
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate hobbing, shaping, and bevel generating gear cutting machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to ensure accuracy of dimensions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery or production processes.
- Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality.
