February 3, 2026 โ Alexandria, VA โ The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Motion + Power Manufacturers Alliance (MPMA) to jointly develop and deliver content for the 2026 MPMA Fall Technical Meeting (FTM).
This collaboration enhances MPMA’s flagship technical event, which will continue to feature double-blind, peer-reviewed technical papers on the latest research in the field. Building on MPMA’s late 2025 announcement of an expanded format, the meeting will now include a second track dedicated to presentation-only submissions, encouraging broader participation from researchers and industry professionals.
โOur two organizations have a lot of cross-over in the manufacturing space. For us to combine efforts, we have the ability to deliver an enhanced networking event for all involved,โ stated Leah Lewis, VP, Education & Events for MPMA.
The presentation-only track will showcase cutting-edge developments, innovative company solutions to market challenges, case studies, technical advancements in manufacturing and inspection, and emerging technologies poised to influence the future of the bearing and gear industries. This partnership with STLE is expected to attract more technical submissions in lubricationโa critical topic for both gear and bearing manufacturersโreaching the combined audience of manufacturing professionals and lubrication specialists.
A highlight of the collaboration will be a dedicated session featuring findings from STLE’s 2026 Emerging Trends Report. Published every three years since 2014, this comprehensive report evaluates current trends and predicts future developments impacting tribology and lubrication engineering across six key topic areas. The presentations will address trends of importance not only to the STLE community but also to gear and bearing industry professionals.
โWe are excited to amplify STLEโs voice within the broader motion power community at this yearโs Fall Technical Meeting,โ said Rebecca Lintow, STLE Executive Director. โOur curated track and invitation for abstract submissions underscore STLEโs commitment to advancing technical excellence and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.โ
The 2026 MPMA Fall Technical Meeting will take place October 5-7, 2026, in Rosemont, Illinois. Presentation-only submissions are due March 27, 2026. The Call for Participation and instructions to upload abstracts can be found at: 2026 Fall Technical Meeting โ American Gear Manufacturers Association
