Maximizing Manufacturing Efficiency: Using Additive Manufacturing to Consolidate Parts and Enhance Functionality

April 5, 2023

2023 Emerging Tech Webinar Series – April

In this webinar, we will explore how 3D printing can help manufacturers achieve greater efficiency and improved component functionality. Specifically, we will focus on how additive manufacturing (AM) can be used to consolidate multiple parts into a single component, reducing assembly time and costs while still allowing for complex geometries. We will also discuss how AM techniques can enhance component functionality by incorporating features such as internal channels or lattice structures that are not possible with traditional manufacturing methods; or multiple design features that would traditionally be combined through a variety of methods.

Furthermore, we will delve into how additive manufacturing can provide superior surface finish, eliminating the need for secondary finishing processes such as sanding or polishing. This can reduce production time and costs while also improving the overall quality of the finished product.

Alastair Crowe, Director of Engineering, will share real-world examples of how companies have successfully utilized 3D printing to streamline their manufacturing processes and create high-performance components. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into how they can apply these strategies in their own manufacturing operations.
