Gearbox Technician – Motion

SUMMARY:

Motion Mechanical Technicians provide the highest levels of mechanical service and product repair to meet the needs of our customers and keep their industry in motion.

JOB DUTIES

Job duties would include utilizing a range of precision hand tools and hydraulic presses to disassemble industrial gear reducers, meticulously inspect internal components and critical tolerances to determine the root cause failure analysis, document findings on an inspection report, and rebuilding the reducer to โ€œlike newโ€ condition.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of shop experience or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • The job requires a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work well with others.  Although not required, experience in industrial gear reducer repair is a plus.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Push/pull up to 100 pounds
  • Lift/carry up to 100 pounds
  • Lift bulky objects
  • Neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reach and lift, ladder climb and carry, crawling.
  • Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving history.
