U.S. Economic and Gear Industry Outlook

Financial markets enter the new year facing increased volatility, but will that slow growth? Economic data has been mostly good, especially jobs numbers.  A slowdown does not imply that a recession is on the horizon. Hear the very latest economic data affecting the gearing industry.

IHS Economics

As a senior principal for the Industry Service at IHS, Tom is responsible for projections about the U.S. and Canadian industrial economies, including special aspects about output, prices, revenues, costs, wages, productivity, and profit margins.

Runiewicz authors sections in IHS U.S. Economic, Industry Analysis, and Pricing and Purchasing services publications. He has expertise in the capital equipment industries, forest products, construction, steel, agricultural, and service sectors.

Additional responsibilities include product line forecasting and consulting for clients that include many of the Fortune 500 and national trade associations. He has over 30 years of experience in the economic forecasting and consulting industry.

Runiewicz received a M.S. in Agricultural Economics and Operations Research in 1980 from Pennsylvania State University. He also earned a B.S. in 1976 in Commerce and Finance from Wilkes University. He became a CPA in 1996.
